Coalport is a delightful small village community nestling in the Severn Gorge adjoining the River Severn; the area was at the heart of the Industrial Revolution and is steeped in heritage with the Ironbridge Gorge and museums forming part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and being a premier tourist area. The world’s first iron bridge constructed in 1779 is some two miles to the west and Telford town centre with its excellent range of facilities, including the railway station and access to the M54, is some five miles to the north. Coalport is understood to have been the creation of William Reynolds, one of the 18th century Shropshire iron makers and was the home of the Coalport China Works which was world renowned for its production of china and decorative tiles.
Reynolds Wharf is a prestigious development in an idyllic riverside setting close to the Coalport China Museum; the development was carried out by Mess'rs Shropshire Homes and includes the sympathetic conversion of some of the original 19th century Coalport China factory buildings together with built detached and three storey mews properties and apartments.
Is situated on the top floor, within a block of three apartments and can be accessed via the ground level at Reynolds Wharf or can be accessed from the garden level adjacent. A particular feature is the apartment covers the whole of the first floor and is not shared at all, and has accommodation from the communal landing into the hallway which gives access through to the living room, kitchen/diner, double bedroom and bathroom/WC. The living room enjoys splendid views out towards the front, whilst the kitchen/diner has a range of base and wall cupboards with integrated oven and hob with extractor hood over and refrigerator, with space for washing machine, there is also tiled flooring and also enjoys splendid views out towards the front. The double bedroom has built in wardrobes whilst also looking out towards the front, and the bathroom/WC has a white coloured suite comprising of the usual facilities but also benefits from having a shower over the bath.
There is an allocated parking space next to the apartment with the option to purchase a parking permit for a further space from the Ironbridge Gorge Museum for £60 a year. There is a communal garden in front of the apartment.
How to get there: From Ironbridge proceed along Waterloo Street; at the Free Bridge bear left along The Lloyds and proceed ahead towards Coalport and the China Museum; in Coalport proceed past the Tar Tunnel and The Shakespeare Inn and just beyond the Coalport China Museum turn right down the bank to the communal car park immediately in front – the property is on the left.
Tenure: We are advised the property is Leasehold (with 199 years from 2002), and we have been advised by the vendor there is a leasehold and service charge at approximately £840.70 which is charged twice a year.
